6. Set up emails & notifications

Emails
Email notifications are sent from noreply@example.postaffiliatepro.com built-in email account. You can change this to your own email address in Configuration > Mail account.

Choose how emails should be sent:

1. Send by mail() function (Limit 50 emails per hour)
If you switch the email field to use a different domain (not @postaffiliatepro.com), you will need to set up an SPF record. This verifies that Post Affiliate Pro's servers are allowed to send emails on your behalf, reducing spam ratings and improving delivery.

To set up an SPF record in your domain's DNS settings under the TXT record, follow these steps:

If you have no existing SPF record, add:
v=spf1 redirect=_spf.postaffiliatepro.com

If you already have an SPF record, append Post Affiliate Pro’s entry like this:
v=spf1 a mx include:_spf.websupport.sk include:_spf.postaffiliatepro.com ?all

You can check if the SPF record is set up correctly using DNS checker tools, such as WhatsMyDNS. You won’t be able to save your email address in Post Affiliate Pro until the SPF record is properly set and propagated.

2. Send by SMTP (Limit 1000 emails per hour)
If some affiliates report not receiving their email notifications while they appear as sent in your Post Affiliate Pro outbox, the issue is likely that emails sent from our mail servers are blocked or marked as spam. To resolve this, we recommend using an SMTP connection to your own mail server.

Your mail server provider will give you the necessary SMTP connection details. For instance, to use your Gmail account for sending emails from Post Affiliate Pro, enter your Gmail address in the "Email" field of the configuration screen, as it must be an allowed sender on your mail server.

Email Notifications and Email Templates
Modify what email notifications are sent to your merchant email address or to your affiliates in Configuration > Email Notifications. Content and style of these emails can be changed in Configuration > Email Templates.
